Lovely cards!

Good morning stampers! Sorry - didn't make it on here yesterday - been very busy!

Today I have 2 more entries to share with you!

First we have this lovely card from Joy Rumble in New Zealand:

Joy has used Stamps used a giraffe stamp from Lucy's stamps for the main feature on her card. There are 4 layers all up, parts of which have been mounted with 3D foam tape paper tole style - check out the dimension:

The tuft on the horns had 3 layers. Joy also used embossing powder on the giraffe. The lower neck of the giraffe was put under the bottom of the frame, then using foam tape the head was attached to the top outside frame.

Joy used a nestabilities oval to do the frame, the edges of the frame & the orange & white underneath were distressed. The orange paper is rust spots from The Attic Collection. Foam tape (3D ) was used between the black & white card & the black frame & orange card. The Fern stamp (Also by Lucy's Stamps) has also been mounted with 3d foam. A white gel pen was used to write the words.

Next we have this great birthday card from Julie Schmitt:

Julie has used a Heidi Grace flower stamp, a felt flower, and a jumbo brad for the flower embellishment on her card.

Great work ladies!

I'll be back later on this evening with that storage post I promised you! :)

Canvas Creation!

See - I told you I'd be back again tonight! LOL!

Tonight's entry is this gorgeous canvas card by Katrina Thompson:

From Katrina:

"I painted a canvas with acrylic paints, rubbed over it with black ink then added Kaisercraft rub on's on either side. I edged it all in black ink and stamped the Anna Griffin flourish at the top, PSX words at the bottom and the Anna Griffin butterfly at the side. I stamped 2 JudiKins butterflies and a Kaisercraft rub-on 'frame' onto scrap paper smudged with distress ink, cut them all out, rubbed them with pearlescent white ink and mounted them onto the canvas".

"I added a Darkroom Door 'daydream' word, some pearls, bling and ribbon. I coloured the charm and butterfly with a white marker and the white pearl ink then added a coordinating rub-on on the charm and Kaisercraft 'bling' onto the butterfly".

Stunning work Katrina!

Tomorrow I'll be back with a post about how to best store your acrylic and unmounted rubber stamps, as well as another new entry! Lots of eye candy this month! :)

Entries from Shebangabang!

LOL! So if you haven't seen the Commonwealth Bank ad then you're probably thinking I've lost my mind! LMAO! Basically some American advertising executives refer to New Zealand as "Shebangabang" - makes me giggle every time! LOL! Check out the ad here. :P

So anyway, today's entries both come from Shebangabang! LMAO!

First up we have this gorgeous card from 10 year old Natasha Rumble:

Natasha has used black and orange cardstock; "Whiff of Joy" stamp stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with tombow pen and lumiere paint; Kaisercraft flowers coloured with twinkling h2o's; foliage branch and ribbon.

Next up we have this lovely card from Lorraine Sprosen:

Lorraine has used black Coredinations cardstock; "Wind Flower" stamp by Kiwi Impressions; and a "Happy Birthday" stamp by Kaisercraft. Her images were mounted on orange cardstock and raised up for dimension. Lorraine sponged around the edges, and used a black stamp pad to rub around the edges.

Great work ladies!

I'll be back later on tonight with another entry! :)

A card and a technique journal.

Hello stampers!

Only 4 more days (including today) to get your entries in for the Orange, Black, and White challenge! I don't know about you, but I've loved seeing all the different entries this month! They're all been fabulous and these next two are no exception!

First up we have this great card from Janet O'Brien:

Janet has used a robot stamp from the Darkroom Door Robot Vol 2 stamp set, Ferngully sheep stamp, Stampendous Alphabet stamps, Bazzill cardstock, and Making Memories patterned paper.

Janet stamped the robot on watercolour paper and coloured it in with Marvy pens and a blender pen and decorated it with Kaisercraft pearls. She then stamped the sheep 4 times on watercolour paper and slightly coloured them.

Awesome card Janet!

Next up we have this altered technique journal from Danielle O'Connor:

From Danielle:

"I started by covering the whole front with orange acrylic paint and when that dried I applied a crackle medium then applied black acrylic to give a contrasting effect with the cracks. I then made a stencil with a punch and stuck it to the side and filled the areas with texture paste. After the paste dried I painted it orange and stamped a Darkroom Door Ornate Elements stamp with black stazon over the texture paste".

"For my main image I used a brushless watercolour technique I saw at my LSS and on Hero Arts blog. I used Autumn Leaves stamp - Fine and Dandy, Marvey markers in orange and black (of course) I inked and distressed the edges with Versacube in Topaz and stamped my Stampington Script stamp in Topaz as well. Finished it all up with some cuttlebugged embossed orange Bazzill, some ribbons down the spine, a Kaisercraft Inspire rub-on, some beads, cord and flowers".

Gorgeous Danielle!

Brrrrrrr! It's getting cold now! Anyone else freezing too?! LOL! What better excuse to stay indoors in front of the heater and stamp away! LOL!

Wall Art and a Scrapbook Page!

Good afternoon everyone!

I have another 2 entries to show off today!

First we have this lovely piece of wall art by Judith Armstrong:

From Judith:

"For my 'picture' I made 2 lollipop flowers out of Basic Grey Ambrosia Citrus patterned paper. These were edged with spiced marmalade distress ink and sprayed with water to help curl the edges and make the ink run. The brads are also Basic Grey Ambrosia".

Tip - if you want to see a demo on how to make flowers like these for yourself, check out this Youtube Video. :)

Here's the close up:

"The 2 stamps I used are both from Kaisercraft - the flower stems from the acrylic flowers set and the saying is a wood mounted stamp called 'Dreams'. I mounted the flowers and stamped the stems and saying onto a piece of white cardstock that had spiced marmalade distress ink blended into it. This was then mounted onto a piece of black cardstock, which was in turn mounted onto a piece of white cardstock. Bugle beads were added as a frame".

Gorgeous Judith!

Next up we have this awesome scrapbook page by Shelly Williams:

Shelly has used Bazzill cardstock, Kaisercraft rubons, Daisy Bucket Designs Border stamps, Tim Holtz Black Soot distress ink, Darkroom Door Photography stamps, Rebecca Sower punch, Imaginisce and Green Tara flowers, and a Zig pen.

Love it Shelly!

Have a great day everyone, and stay inky!

ANZAC Day.

Today is ANZAC Day. A day of remembrance to honour the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I and also to commemorate the soldiers who fought in France and Belgium.

Please take a moment today to reflect on those that lost their lives for us, not only in WW1, but every other subsequent war; and to silently thank those men and women from today's Defence Force who are still serving their country, and wish them a safe return to their families.

Lest We Forget.

A Stamped Pendant!

Good morning stampers!

Today's entry is a lovely pendant sent in by Carmen Sanchez:

I do believe this is the first piece of jewelery we've had here on the blog! Yay! Isn't it gorgeous?!

Carmen took a blank pendant and filled it with black and orange cardstock. The orange cardstock has been stamped with a part of a flourish journaling stamp using black Stazon, and embossed with clear embossing powder. Carmen then added the Kaisercraft pearl and the computer generated words "inky fingers".

To finish, Carmen covered it all with glossy accents and let it dry all night long. A piece of organza ribbon was tied to the top, and voila! A gorgeous piece of wearable art!

Great work Carmen!

More entries!

Hi stampers!
Today I have 2 new entries to share!

First up we have this great ATC by Renee Dowling:

Renee has displayed her ATC on a 7 Gypsies ATC rotunda - how cool are they!?!

Renee has used "Le Gardin" Rubber Cling Stamps for the flower (from Lizzie Anne Designs). She Alcohol Inked the Background, and stamped the title with a Daisy Bucket "My life is my message" stamp. Here is a close up:

A great start to the ATC rotunda!

Next up we have this really cool scrapbook layout by Annette Hanigan:

Annette created her layout using only minimal supplies as she was away on holiday - shows just how creative you can be using just what you have on hand!

Annette used some Steadler triplus fineliner pens, black electrical tape, and Heidi Grace stamps.

From Annette:

"I decided to randomly grab whatever stamps were on my desk and to use them each in a twinchie. I literally closed my eyes and grabbed. Coloured in with orange, stuck down with electrical tape and the big numbers were cut from an old "Madison" magazine that was floating around".

"I added some stamped flowers in black, again coloured them in orange and added a hand drawn doodle on the bottom left and a bit of journaling to explain what i did".

Awesome work ladies!

Only one more week to go - anyone have any ideas what the next challenge will be? :)

Message Box!

Good morning everyone!

Today's entry is an altered Kasiercraft pencil box by Jen Sweatman:

Jen created herself a "Spic and Span" message box to communicate messages to her cleaner! Great idea Jen! (Can you send her over to my house when she's finished??! LOL!).

Here's what the other side looks like:

From Jen:

"I painted it white on the rim and inside and black on the outside and bottom. On two opposite sides I created a black velvet pattern using Hero Arts design block flourish, glue pad and Doodlebug crushed velvet flock in beetle black".

"On one side I stamped various images using StazOn white. I altered the Grungeboard bird with distress ink (spiced marmalade) & copper moonshadow mist, and the Grungeboard letters were heat embossed in white".

"The final side I stamped and clear embossed a corner flourish (Making Memories), altered a plastic flower with stamping and alcohol inks, and finally attached various embellishments & letter altered using the same techniques as the items on the opposite side".

Great work Jen!

Keep those entries coming everyone! :) There are 6 fabulous prizes on offer this month, so be sure to send in an entry for your chance to win!

Storage Ideas for Wood Mounted Rubber Stamps.

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to show you some of the great storage solutions for wood-mounted stamps that are available from Craftainers - this month's guest sponsor here at Inkurable Stampers.

You can be sure that you're getting the best info from me because a) I've worked for Craftainers for more than 2 years now and know the products back to front, and b) I personally use or have used these products so can recommend and review them honesty and without any bias. :)

So first up is my favourite way of storing my wood mounted stamps, and that is with the Super Satchel Slims (open core):

These satchels are made from a strong translucent plastic and measure 15"L x 14"W x 2"H. They feature a carry handle, and locking clips so that you can carry your stamps from room to room or stamping afternoon at a friend's house with ease. They are also stackable, so you can stack them on top of one another, or on one of the other Super Satchels available in the range.
They keep your stamps dust free and away from light and so will maximise the life of your stamps. They are extremely sturdy, and are well worth the investment. I keep all of my scrapbooking papers in the larger Super Satchels - they are truly the best option for paper storage out there.

If you have lots of stamps or supplies and need many of the super satchels, then you can store them all in a Super Satchel Cube like so:

There is also a range of totes to carry them in as well.

Well, if you're just starting out, or you have a limited range of wood mounted stamps, the you'll probably want something a bit smaller. You might like to have a look at the Prism Box Series 1100AB - 1 Compartment:

These crystal clear plastic containers are great for smaller wood mounted stamps or versacube inks. They're great because being crystal clear you can see exactly what's inside without having to open them. Great for keeping supplies at hand on your desk, however not so great if you are looking at carrying them to stamp days or camps as the plastic can get damaged if they are thrown around a lot in your bag. :) Again, these are stackable with the other boxes available in the range.

If space on your desk is at a premium, or you just like to be able to see your wood mounted stamps at a glance, then the 2 Tier Shelf from the Lisa and Becky Rail System might interest you:

These shelves hang from the 15" rail (sold separately) which mounts to your wall to maximise your craft room space. It measures 9.75"Hx14.75"Wx5"D. There is also a Stamp Pad Holder available in the range.

Pop over to Craftainers and have a look at all the storage options available to make your workspace beautifully organised - if you need help with where to start you can check out the great books available with great advice on organising your stash.

Stay tuned as in the next few days I will be doing a feature on storage options for your unmounted stamps, as well as inkpads and other supplies. :)

Save your loot in style!

Wowee - you girls really are out-doing yourselves this month!

Today's entry is a stunning money box created by Vicky Fernando. Here's what it looked like before she altered it:

And here is what it looks like now:

How awesome is that??!!! :)

From Vicky:

"Firstly, I lightly sanded it, then I painted the inside using Making Memories acrylic paint (Eat Your Carrots), and the outside I covered with black MM paint (Asphalt). I then used various stamp images (DRD lace & script, Cherry Pie bricks & face, Autumn Leaves flourish, Non Sequitor clock face, Victoria's Secret alphabet, Stampotique girl, MyStamps face, & a set of alphas from Studio Astarte) and embossed them with white embossing powder".

"I then painted some old book pages, tearing them & sticking them in place, and used 3 different leaf punches (by Carl) and some cardstock painted with Twinkling H2Os (a combination of Ginger Peach and Cinnamon Brown). The arched door is from Collections, and the inside door has been put through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder".

Vicky's hubby was even kind enough to start off her stamping fund with 20 cents! LOL!! Don't spend it all at once Vicky! LMAO!!!

OK ladies - take advantage of this cold weather to get out your stamps and get your entries in! :)

More entries and a prize!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I have 2 new entries to share today, plus another prize to give away!! :)

First up we have this lovely ATC from Marnie Lucas:

Marnie made her ATC using scrap papers. First she embossed 2 pieces of patterned paper with a "Diamonds in the Rough" cuttlebug embossing folder. She sanded the first piece, and then cut one pattern out and popped it on top of the original with foam squares. She then doodled around the edges to give it definition.

Marnie then stamped the little bug from the Stampin' Up "Merci" range and mounted it onto the ATC. She has also added black Kaisercraft pearls; two Prima flowers; letters from Adorn It; and a brad.

To finish, Marnie covered the whole lot in Dimensional Magic and inked the white flower with pumpkin pie ink from Stampin' Up.

Next up we have this gorgeous card from Jude Gall:

To make her card, Jude has used:

* Cardstock (basic black & whisper white).
* Inkpads (basic black, apricot appeal, pumpkin pie & Tangerine Tango).
* Eyelet border punch
* Stamp sets - Upsy Daisy & Best Yet

Jude used a brayer for the background in the three shades of orange before stamping the flowers and sentiment.

Fabulous work ladies!

Now, I have one more prize to give away to one of the Cyberstamp participants! There were 10 people who completed all three challenges, and I have one more Ribbon Pack valued at $14.95 to give away, courtesy of Tarisota! So, I've put all the eligible names into a random list generator and the name at the top was.....

JENENE EVANS!

Congratulations Jenene! A gorgeous ribbon pack from Tarisota will be on it's way to you soon! :)

Stay inky!

More Orange, Black, and White Goodness.....

Good morning stampers!

I have 3 brand new entries to share with you today!

First we have this ATC from Damaris in the USA:

Damaris created the background with Glimmer Mist and used a clear Spica pen on the butterflies and around the edge of the black cardstock.
Materials: Darkroom Door Stamps - Wilderness Vol. 2; Glimmer Mist - Sunflower, Pineapple and Mimosa; Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch; Spica - Clear.

Also from the USA we have this ATC from Aussie girl Sue McGettigan:

Sue used Tim Holtz texture/background stamps for the scratchy border on white cardstock, then inked up the edges with distress ink. The butterfly and leaves stamps are from Stampin' Up! The leaf background is a 'twinchie' with the leaves stamped once in black, then in versamark, with Perfect Pearls brushed on. The butterfly was stamped on a speckled Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink background, with Tattered Angels 'Tiger Lily' Glimmer Mist sprayed over then attached to the card with pop dots for a little lift.

And last but not least we come back to Australia for this card from Lyn Smith:

Lyn started with a plain white folded card, then added a black layer which she stamped and embossed with the large Canvas background stamp by Stampin' Up using black embossing powder and Versamark ink.

For Lyn's orange background layer, she used a piece of watercolour paper and slathered on some Ginger Peach and Spiced Pumpkin Twinkling H2O's. Once dry, she stamped the silhouette flower stem (from a clear U/M set by Christina Re) onto it with black Versafine ink and heat set it.

Lyn added a row of white scallops to the right hand side, adhered the panel to the black background, added the black and white polka dot ribbon and button, then sewed around the orange panel with black thread. She also added black brads to the corners; white pearls to the flower centres; and a small white tag which she stamped with a Stampin' Up greeting, tied with a black ribbon and attached to her card with dimensional squares.

Lovely work ladies!

Oh, and if you haven't already, don't forget to pop your name down on this post for your chance to play with the lovely Owl stamp from Orange Jelly Stamps.

Yay for Fridays!

An Inkurable Diorama!!

OMG when this hit my inbox I nearly fell off my chair! How cool is this diorama from Renee Ludlow:

Renee bought her box from a $2 shop. The house is a Collections Elements house which is covered with Kaisercraft paper, German Scrap and gutter guard.

Renee stamped Prima College Opus stamp around the walls. The girl on the front is a stamp from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. The stamp on the side of the house is a Technique Tuesday Stamp.

For the background Renee covered a piece of cardboard (from a coke carton) with book print. She then removed some of the top layer to reveal the corrugations underneath. Next, she applied a white wash of acrylic paint over the entire surface and glued this inside the box.

Renee embellished her diorama with a Collections Elements window and bird, a twig which she painted white and some Bazzill Basics paper flowers to which she applied some dimensional magic drops as faux dew drops.

Awesome work Renee!!

Keep those entries coming everyone! :)

Please Welcome Orange Jelly Stamps!

Hello stampers! I have some fabulous news!

Please join me in extending a huge Inkurable Stampers welcome to our newest permanent sponsor, Orange Jelly Stamps! (And what a fabulous colour scheme! LOL!!).

Orange Jelly Stamps is owned and run by Sue van der Veer, and began trading in July 2008.

The stamps are designed by Sue, with help from her husband and even her kids! They stock fun and funky stamps for scrapbooking, cardmaking, and even stock a great range of teacher's stamps!

Orange Jelly Stamps are made using Instaplate Sachets, for added strength & durability. Put simply, their stamps are TOUGH!! They won't stretch and they won't tear.

Because they are made tough, their stamps don't cling to an acrylic block on their own, and work best when used with InstaGrip sheets. Simply cut InstaGrip to suit your acrylic block, then your Orange Jelly Stamps will cling happily to your block and give you their best impression. One sheet of InstaGrip is usually more than enough to meet the needs of most customers, and you never need to replace it. Of course, their stamps will also work using "On and Off" glue, EZ mount or double-sided tape. :)

Orange Jelly Stamps will be a sponsor here at Inkurable Stampers from April onwards!

To celebrate our new partnership, Sue and I will be running a very special challenge next month (May), alongside our regular challenge.

10 lucky Inkurable Stampers will be playing with this little beauty - a not yet released owl stamp, exclusive to Orange Jelly:

and competing for a chance to win a special prize from Orange Jelly Stamps!

If you'd like to take part in this challenge, please email me or leave a comment here for your chance to be selected!
(Australian residents only please). You have until Midnight Friday 17th April 2009 to register your interest.

And don't forget to pop over to Orange Jelly Stamps and check out the great range of designs available! (Just don't tell your Hubby I sent you there!! LOL!).

I'm back!

Hello stampers!!

I'm back again after my night off to recover from the Cyberstamp! LOL! What a fun weekend it was!

I've got three entries for our Orange, Black, and White challenge to share with you all today. Let's get into it!

First up we have this lovely card from Ros Rayner in the UK:

Ros has used stamps by Paper Artsy and Stampington to create her card. She has also used homemade glimmer mist on a distress ink sponged background for the top and bottom layers.
Ros used the "crazy patchwork" technique on the middle layer with various sources of scraps, and gessoed over the top.

Ros also made a twinchie for our Cyberstamp twinchie challenge! She missed the deadline for the challenge, however I wanted to share it with you anyway because it's cute!

The stamps Ros used are by Darkroom Door, and the background was made using Tim Holtz's wrinkle free distress technique.

Great work Ros!

Next we have this great ATC by Jill Geraghty-Groves:

I totally love it Jill! (I wonder if she will swap it with me?!).

Jill created the background with alcohol inks and glimmer mists. She has used a Artgirlz stamp, which she stamped onto vintage paper and embossed, before tucking it behind an embossed Collections Elements window frame! Spooky indeed! Ol' button eyes there freaks me out way more than Bad Barbie! LOL!! But I still love it!

And now for something much less frightening, we have this adorable scrapbook page by Belinda Boyce:

Belinda created her scrapbook page on a canvas to display this lovely photo of her daughter on her wall. She has used a Heidi Swapp 'adore' stamp and an Urban Lily butterfly stamp in the corner.

Great stuff ladies!!

I'll be back tomorrow to announce the Cyberstamp winners, and the winners for our March challenge. :)

~Sarah~
