Last minute rush!

It's the last day of our Ribbons and Lace challenge, and the last minute entries are flooding in! I have 3 to share this morning, but I may even be back tonight or tomorrow morning with some more. :)

So, our first entry for today comes from Kim Baans:

Kim has created a gorgeous tag card for her entry. Here is the tag that goes inside the pocket:

Kim has used stamps from Paper Artsy, Stampit (by Rachel Grieg), and Amazing Creations.

Kim has also used Tim Holtz distress inks, and found ribbon and lace.

Stunning Kim!

Next up we have this lovely card by Danielle O'Connor:

Del created her flower using a tutorial she saw here.
She has used a Gelatins stamp for the background which she stamped with Versamark ink.

Great work Danielle!

And last but not least is this lovely card by Joy Rumble:

Joy created her background using the "Diamonds in the Rough" Cuttlebug Embossing folder on a purple / white paper. Joy put Versamark on the raised part of the folder, then put her piece of card through the Cuttlebug. She then put clear embossing powder over the embossed card, and heat embossed it.

The third layer was done using the "Swiss dots" Cuttlebug embossing folder. The stamp is Hero Arts "Opera coat".

Joy made her flowers using Spellbinders "Flower Creations" then painted them with Twinkling H2os (Evening Primrose), curled them with tweezers, and added little pearls in the centre.

The leaves were punched out using hand made paper, and the tag was done with a cuttlebug folder, and attached using Organza ribbon held on with 2 black brads. The black lace was attached to background before placing on card.

Lovely work Joy!

That's it from me for the moment - I'm off to go shopping! (And hopefully avoid catching pig flu!).

Stay inky!

Next we have this birthday card by Annette Hanigan:

From Annette:

"I have used a mixture of chipboard coloured with black stazon ink. The Heidi Grace clear stamp from the "Sweetest Bug Icons" set have been coloured using tombow markers and blended with a water brush".

"The blue lace I found at the Lifeline shop in it's original wrapping that had a price in pounds on it!! So I guess its old!! Love the colour. Some assorted ribbons held together with staples a bit of kaiser bling and a hand doodled border to finish".

Lots of new entries to share!

Wow - I was away from my computer for a day or so and I came back to almost 50 emails! Heaps of those were comments from you lovely readers, so thank you to everyone who stopped by to leave some love for our entrants!

Today I have not one, not two, but THREE new entries to share with you all! So lets get right into it!!

First up we have this gorgeous ATC from Tania Davey:

Tania created her ATC using a Collections Bust covered in lace trim. She stamped it with a Cherry pie Art Stamp, and finished it off with some gems. Tania stamped a Delish Stamp and the same Cherry Pie art stamp onto the background and embossed with silver embossing powder. A ribbon finished her design.

Exquisite indeed Tania!

Next we have a lovely scrapbook page by Jen Sweatman:

Jen stamped the title of her layout using KI Memories Courtyard alpha stamps and she also stamped part of a swirl on the chipboard heart.

Jen used ribbons to frame the main photo and journaling, and some lovely blue lace underneath the bottom photo. The background paper is Cherry Arte.

Excellent Jen! A fabulous example of how you can create masculine projects with ribbons and lace too!

And last but not least we have another fabulous scrapbook page, this time from Amanda Lawrence:

Amanda has create d gorgeous heritage page and used a lovely fob watch stamp to compliment her design. Amanda used lace to make the white flowers, and the green ribbon has been used to lace through eyelets over the mesh tape.

So lovely Amanda!

Well, that's it from me for today!

Keep those entries coming in! :)

Special Owl Challenge Entry #10.

Good morning stampers! Welcome to the 10th and final installment of our very special Orange Jelly Heart Owl Stamp challenge!

Our final entry comes from Lyn Smith:

Lyn has created a gorgeous tri-fold card with her Heart Owl stamp.

From Lyn:

"I decided to make a tri-fold card from a sheet of A4 white cardstock, the folded size of the card is approx 8 1/4 in. x 4 in".

"For my card background I used a sheet of music paper (Fleamarket find) and cut it to fit the card size. I started off by painting some slightly watered down gesso over the sheet music, I still wanted the music to show through, the gesso also adds a bit of strength to the fragile paper. After the gesso had dried I sprayed the music paper with Vintage Pink and Bronze Glimmer Mist, then sewed around the edges and sponged some Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink around the edges. I then adhered this to the card base".

"For the front panel I stamped the owl onto a scrap of marbled cream/beige cardstock using Versamark ink, then brushed Super Bronze Pearl Ex powder over the Versamark, sprayed this with a sealer, cut around the image and adhered with dimensional dots to the front of the card".

"The lasercut chipboard tree (Micro Arts by Handprint Art Stamps) is sponged with dark brown Colorbox chalk ink and glued to card front. Stamped the 'Whoo' word using Justrite stamper alphabet - Curlz font in Versafine Vintage Sepia. Adhered some white lace (from Spotlight) down the left side and added a metal corner (Pixie Press). I also adhered some flowers (all flowers from a mixed bag, possibly Primas). The centre of the large flower is a gold jewelery finding with a pink Kaiser rhinestone added"
.

"The 2nd panel has the word 'Loves' stamped at the top (Justrite Stamper), the brackets are from the Stampin' Up Accoutrements set, stamped in Tim Holtz Tea Dye distress ink. The swirls (Inque Boutique - Storyboards set) are stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and I've added some pink Kaiser rhinestones. The heart (Stampin' Up - Always set) is stamped onto a piece of white cardstock using SU Pretty in Pink ink, cut out then sponged with Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink. I added a flower and brad, a metal key, and some punched leaves to the top left and adhered to the 2nd panel".

"The 3rd panel has the same lace and metal corner as the front panel and a small flower with a Kaiser pearl centre at the bottom. The rhinestone arrow (Kaiser) is adhered to the top of the panel, 'You' (Justrite Stamper) is stamped in the centre and I've used the Orange jelly owl again at the bottom - this time I stamped directly onto the music paper with Versamark ink then heat embossed with copper embossing powder".

Here's what Lyn thought about her Orange Jelly Heart Owl stamp:

"Many thanks to Sarah, and Sue at Orange Jelly Stamps for allowing me to participate in this challenge. I found the stamp to be excellent quality, and of course I just love the owl design! I didn't have any instagrip to use with the stamp, but used it with Tack 'n' Peel which is what I have on my acrylic blocks - this worked well and I didn't need to use any extra cushioning when I stamped. The images turned out perfectly each time I stamped, you've gotta love that!".

Great work Lyn!

Well, that brings us to the end of our very special Owl Stamp Challenge sponsored by Orange Jelly Stamps! I hope you've all enjoyed seeing all of the fabulous entries by the lucky 10 ladies that got to play with the gorgeous Heart Owl stamp. If you want one of these stamps for yourself, you can pick one up for just $5.00 (plus postage) from Orange Jelly.

Thanks so much to Sue from Orange Jelly for donating the stamps for this challenge - now sue has the very hard job of choosing just one winner from the 10 awesome entries who will receive these gorgeous Orange Jelly Circle and Hearts Floral Inchies stamps!

Good luck Sue, and good luck ladies! Your entries were all fabulous! Thanks so much for being a part of this special challenge!

Stay tuned for the announcement of the winner! :)

Special Owl Challenge Entry #9.

Hi stampers!

Today's Special Owl Challenge entry comes to us from Genevieve Payne:

Genevieve has used:

* Collections large chipboard House Kit
* Collections small chipboard houses
* Collections 0477 French Wallpaper designer 6x6 papers
* Collections ‘Big Ben’ clock image
* Collections Chipboard leaves
* Dymo Caption Maker

From Genevieve:

"I have run the large chipboard house kit through the Cuttlebug using the Traffic Jam embossing folder. I have then dry brushed this with Golden Paints (Quinacridone Nickel, Azo Gold, Quinacridone Burnt Orange, and Raw Umber) and Folk Art Metallic Antique Copper. I have dry brushed the leaves with Jo Sonja’s Green Acrylic and Metallic Antique Copper".

"Small chipboard houses have been covered with the Collections French Wallpaper paper, edges sanded and sponged with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink".

"Owls have been stamped onto Oatmeal card stock using Vivid ink and embossed with Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powders. German Scrap and Collections ruler have been added to the small houses. Words have been added using the Dymo Caption Maker (of which I had to buy a new one as someone in my house had broken my 1980’s orginal!!! Damn shame about that hey!!)".

Here's what Genevieve thought of the Heart Owl Stamp from Orange Jelly:

"In regards to the stamp itself, I found the quality of the impression excellent however, I’m so used to things that automatically stick to my acrylic blocks that I found it annoying to have to use something (DS tape) to attach it. Overall, good stuff!".

Great work Genevieve!

OK stampers - check back tomorrow morning for the 10th and final Special Owl Stamp challenge entry!

Stay inky!

Wall Art.

Good evening stampers!

Mixed media wall art seems to be an emerging trend lately! There have been lots of great pieces of art popping up all over the blogosphere and here is no exception!

The latest piece of lovely wall art to hit my inbox comes from Elizabeth Sandel:

From Elizabeth:

"I started with a small canvas and used Distress Inks for the background. I then stamped three Damask's using a Hero Arts stamp. I stamped the words (Cherish Yesterday from Stamp-It) and then created the frame using balsa wood which I ran through the Cuttlebug".

"I then Distressed the frame and highlighted the pattern in a slightly darker colour. I then attached the frame to the canvas using foam to give the frame dimension and then added some ribbon, a small butterfly and finally the string".

Great work Elizabeth!

Special Owl Challenge Entry #8.

Hello again! It's time for our 8th Special Owl Challenge entry! I hope you're all enjoying the entries so far!

Today's entry comes from Rihani Rafeek:

Rihani has created a lovely card with her Heart Owl Stamp.

From Rihani:

"I have layered different shapes of Bazzill cardstock and patterned paper on this card. The light green and orange cardstock have been embossed using the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder. I then stamped the owl stamp onto yellow patterned paper with black ink and then matted the stamp image onto 3 layers of cardstock and patterned paper".

"Each time the image was matted I cut around the image leaving a small bit of space to create a border. The flowers are a part of the patterned paper and I embellished the center of the flowers with rhinestones and rub-ons. Finally, I used alphabet stickers to create the sentiment "For You" on the card".

Here's what Rihani thought of her Orange Jelly Heart Owl stamp:

"This is a beautifully designed stamp! I loved its whimsical like design and the quality of the stamp is great!".

Great work Rihani!

Only 2 more Owl Challenge entries to go! And only 1 week left to get your Ribbons and Lace challenge entries in!

Special Owl Challenge Entry #7.

Good morning stampers!

Today's Special Owl Stamp challenge entry comes from Tania Davey (click on pics to enlarge):

Tania has created a gorgeous mixed media canvas using her Orange Jelly Heart Owl Stamp.

From Tania:

"I created this little canvas, using lots of paint and mica. The owl itself I stamped three times onto some Cardstock, then I cut the individual sections of the wings out and layered them on top of my base stamp, using Liquid scrap dots. I only layered the wings, some two, some three layers, to give a feeling of depth and movement".

"Once it had dried I inked the edges and then coated the owl stamp in Matte Dimension, and sprinkled more mica to make the wings shine".

"Thanks for letting me play along with this stamp, I already have other ideas for using it!".

Great work Tania!

Come back again tomorrow morning for the next entry in our Owl Challenge!

Cards for our Ribbons and Lace challenge!

It's so good to see more entries coming in for the Ribbons and Lace challenge!

Our first entry for today is this great card that was sent in by Janet O'Brien:

Janet stamped the lace background with Autumn Leaves Block Stamps 1 and versa color opera pink ink. The little toad is an Imaginisce Snag'em stamp which Janet coloured in with a blender pen and Marvy Markers.

The ribbon is by Making Memories and the title "i toadily love you" is a combination of Carolee Creations rub ons and stickers.

Next up we have another gorgeous card which was sent in by Lyn Smith:

From Lyn:

"I stamped a Flourishes flower stamp onto a piece of sheet music paper, then cut it out and, using my Aquapen, coloured it with Stampin' Up Baja Breeze ink. I layered it on top of a purchased brown flower and sandwiched them between two Label 1 Nestabilities die cuts. The patterned paper is by Kaisercraft, the greeting is a Stamp-It stamp".

Lyn used a large scrap of blue lace from her stash to create a blue and brown background for her card. Here is a close up:

"I ran a piece of white cardstock through the Cuttlebug in the Swiss Dots folder and inked the edges with TH Antique Linen Distress Ink and Colorbox Dark Brown chalk ink. The base card and the die cuts are also edged with the chalk ink. Added a blue button tied on with dark brown embroidery thread".

Lovely work ladies!

Keep those entries coming everyone! :)

~Sarah~

Special Owl Challenge Entry #6.

This morning's Special Owl Challenge entry is by Shelly Williams:

From Shelly:

"I have been focusing a lot on using up scraps from my stash, rather than having a huge pile. I had stamped the little owl in Chocolate Chip Stampin' Up ink on another project, and loved the way he looked, so I dug through my stash for some similar coloured scraps to make a card, with my Mother In Law in mind".

"I love this paper, and thought it would look elegant with the owl. I made the base of the card, and adhered the patterned paper to it, then went around the outside of the patterned p aper doodling in white Signo pen. I then used a scallop ruler to create the scalloped edge, and inked the edge in white Versamark".

"I then cut the owl image out with my Coluzzle and ran the card through my Cuttlebug for texture. Two Heidi Swapp jewels made his little eyes gleam!".

"I punched out the sentiment tag with a Stampin' Up Designer Label punch, and used tiny alphas for the sentiment - I wanted to tie in the owl theme:). I then inked them with a dauber, just to blend them in a little more. Once I had assembled the elements on the card, I used some chocolate coloured ribbon, and a ribbon slide for decoration too".

Here's what Shelly had to say about the Heart Owl Stamp:

"The Orange Jelly Heart Owl is such a cute stamp to use, and really versatile too, I have used it for this card, a scrapping layout about my bird, to make tags, and can imagine so many other uses too. It is really easy to use, a dream to ink up, with no bits being missed - which I love!!".

"Thanks for taking the time to look at my Owl project, and make sure you add some Orange Jelly stamps to your stash - they are fabbo!!! Thanks also to Sarah, and to Sue from Orange Jelly Stamps for the opportunity to take part, and I can't wait to see everyone else's creations!".

Great work Shelly!

There's more "owlspiration" to come - same time, same place, tomorrow! :)

A new entry and some blog awards!

Good afternoon everyone!

Today's ribbon and lace challenge entry has been sent in by Krissy Christie:

Krissy has decorated a Basic Grey chipboard album and turned it into a quote book to record all her favourite quotes in!

Krissy has used Bo Bunny papers; stamps from Urban Lily, Autumn Leaves, and a lace background stamp from Lucys Stamps.

Here is a close up:

Krissy used paper layering with a paper doily and eyelets so she could use her ribbons like a corset in the corner.

Great job Krissy!

Now, back in December, Krissy bestowed the "Your blog is fabulous award" and I've been meaning to mention it ever since. Here it is:

Danielle O'Connor has also recently given me an award that I've never seen before - the "Deer as Cupcakes" award. Here it is:

So cute! (And I totally wanna eat that cupcake!). When bestowing the award, Danielle made a very big call - that Inkurable Stampers is "the world's best blog" LOL! Well, I'm not sure how accurate that statement is, but I sure am glad she thinks so! LOL!! :)

Unfortunately I just don't have the time to pass on blog awards like these, but I will certainly acknowledge and appreciate them! You can check out all previous awards in the sidebar. :)

So thanks heaps girls! I'm glad you're enjoying the blog!

Special Owl Challenge Entry #5.

Good morning stampers!

Today's special owl challenge entry comes from Katrina Thompson:

Katrina has created a gorgeous wall hanging titled "Into The Wild" using her Heart Owl stamp from Orange Jelly stamps.

From Katrina:

"I covered a piece of core board with Bo Bunny patterned paper and edged and enhanced the colours with distress inks. I painted, sanded and crumpled the chipboard tree, then inked up the wings of the owl and stamped it lightly and randomly over the tree".

"On the same paper I stamped the owl 4 times & cut them out and inked the edges (3 for in the tree and 1 spare set of wings to 3d over the full owl). I wedged 1 owl up the top, another in the hole in the trunk then attached the full owl with 3d foam".

"I distressed and inked 'Into the Wild' and 'Serenity' from the Darkroom Door Wordstrips and attached with 3D foam. The top is secured with a stick & fibres and the bottom has some textured paper and fibre wrapped around it".

Great work Katrina!

I'll be back sometime this evening with some more Ribbon and Lace challenge eye candy. :)

More ribbons and lace....

Good evening everyone!

Tonight I have not one but 2 new ribbons and lace challenge entries to share with you!

First up we have this scrapbook layout by Sharmaine Kruijver:

Sharmaine has created a scrapbook page using lots of layering and clustering using vintage and other ephemera from a kit club.

Here is a close up:

The ribbon is on her tag, and the lace borders 2 edges of her photo. She has used a cute little flower stamp on her journaling block.

Great work Sharmaine!

Next up we have this lovely gift set from Renee Dowling:

For the background of her card, Renee has used Autumn Leaves Clear Stamps - Flourishes - with Stazon ink on transparency, and then used a spray adhesive to attach it to the patterned paper.

Here is a close up of the detail on the card:

Renee has used Lizze Ann stamps - Le Jarden - to create the flowers on both projects. They have been stamped on Rose Moka patterned paper, then mounted them with foam mounting tape, overlapping each other to add a little dimension. Here is a close up of the detail on the gift box:

Gorgeous work Renee!

Special Owl Challenge Entry #4.

Hello again stamp fans! It's time again for another Orange Jelly Owl Challenge entry.

Today's entry is from Judith Armstrong:

Judith has created a lovely piece of wall art with a love theme to complement the hearts in the design of the owl.

From Judith:

"For my wall art, I began by cutting a piece of Basic Grey Urban Couture "Sateen" into 4 10cm x 10cm squares. I then stamped the owl using a Versamark watermark stamp pad in the top right hand corner of one square and bottom left hand corner of another square. I then embossed the owls using Stamp-it fine gold embossing powder".

"I then stamped the letters L, O, V, E using Making Memories Jersey UC foam stamps, again using the Versamark watermark stamp pad. I again embossed these in gold. My final stamping was using a stamp from the Fancy Pants From the Garden collection, which I stamped in the top left hand corner of the square containing the L and the bottom right hand corner of the square containing the E. I then mounted these squares using foam squares onto a 26cm x 26cm square of Double Mates Creamy Cocoa cardstock. This square was then mounted on a piece of Basic Grey Urban Couture Silk patterned paper".

Here's what Judith had to say about working with the Orange Jelly Heart Owl stamp:

"I loved the design of the Orange Jelly stamp. It was nice to see an owl in full flight rather than a cutesy owl. I used double sided tape to stick my stamp to my stamping block and that worked well. The only problem I had was getting the detail of the eyes to show up but that might have been my stamping ability".

Tip from me: Sometimes you lose detail when you use embossing powders to emboss your images. Some companies make fine detail embossing powders that can help you overcome this problem. :) If this still happens with fine embossing powder, you may be using too much - give the project a quick flick or two at the back to remove any excess powder before setting with your heat gun.

Great project Judith!

Check back same time tomorrow for another Heart Owl creation! (And I have another ribbons and lace entry coming up this afternoon). :)

~Sarah~

A scrapbook layout.

Good evening stampers!

Louise has used a Sassafras clear flower stamp on her page. She distressed a piece of lace and some shredded paper ribbon [centre of flower] which she pre-dyed with coffee.

Great work Louise!
