Robyn is a stamper, Copic Marker certified designer, and Inkurable fan that lives in Queensland, Australia.
You can see her work here on her blog, as well as here in her Flickr Photostream.
I asked Robyn some questions so we could get to know her better! Here is the interview:
1. Have you ever made a Gothic Arch before?
I had never made an arch before doing this challenge. For the whole year I had been planning to get around to making one after seeing all the lovely art on Inkurable so this challenge gave me the required push. I quickly made two and already have another on the go as well as a few other designs I would like to try so I suppose I am really hooked! They were so much fun to do and totally different to an ATC or a card which is what I usually create. The shape of the top was a bit hard to work with in the beginning but I was really happy with the results.
2. What will you do with your arches when they're all finished? Will you be making them all the same size, or mixing things up?
No idea yet. Perhaps I will add them to the art journal I am about to start, I think they would be a great starting point to a page. While surfing for some ideas I saw a number of sets bound into books so I may do that as well. My first two arches are 4 ½” high but I also plan on making some smaller ones and I have seen some really lovely shapes that I would like to try.
3. When stamping, do you prefer red rubber stamps, or clear stamps? Why?
Generally I like clear stamps purely for their foolproof ability to get perfect image placement and their ease of storage. But if I am not too worried about that I will take red rubber every time.
4. What is your favourite stamp in your collection?
Oh that is a hard one – like choosing between your children! I constantly reach for my Autumn Leaves flourish stamps but most of my cards seems to feature Darkroom Door stamps somewhere. I think my all time favourite would have to be 'Artful Mosaic' by Stampers Anonymous (below). That was the one that pushed me into being more arty.
5. How often do you use stamps in your projects?
I almost never create a card, ATC or off the page item without using stamps somewhere. It is almost second nature to reach for stamps and ink. Oddly, I don’t tend to use them too much in my scrapbooks. Perhaps because I have so much patterned paper, rub-ons & other embellishments to use up from my stash.
6. What is your favourite stamping / inking technique?
I love to use resist methods but I use a large variety of techniques. Most commonly I will use a technique where I stamp & clear emboss and then sponge over it. Most recently I have been using my Copic markers and trying to do more than just colour in with them.
Thanks for helping us get to know you a little better Robyn! :)
Stay tuned, arch lovers! The latest challenge theme will be revealed shortly!
