** Important Update! ** Inkurable's Birthday Bash! **

Hello everyone!

I've been busy behind the scenes here at Inkurable HQ getting ready for Inkurable's Birthday Bash in April!

I've been planning our Cyberstamp Birthday Party activities and challenges, organising prizes, and trying to figure out dates! That's where you guys come in!

I have narrowed it down to two different weekend in April, and I need to know which date you prefer (if any) so I can make sure the most people get to join in the fun!

So, please pick between the following 2 options, and leave me a comment telling me which you prefer:

* Friday 9th April - Sunday 11th April (Inclusive).

OR

* Friday 23rd April - Sunday 25th April (Inclusive).

If you have no preference, please leave me a comment saying so, so that I can have an idea of how many people plan to join in the fun. :)

There will be online chat and bingo at 9pm on the Friday night, followed by the reveal of Cyberstamp Challenge #1. Challenges #2 and #3 will be revealed on Saturday and Sunday respectively. There will be a few extra days to get your challenges in. Stay tuned for exact details.

I'm looking forward to the "party" and I hope you guys are too! :)

Stay Inky!

Have you seen Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" yet? Alice fever seems to have set in all over the world, and this month's issue of Somerset Studio is no exception! This Alice inspired issue is now available at The Stamping Queen:

I have this issue, and it's just gorgeous! Full of lots of inspirational projects and eye candy! Here's a sneak peek inside:

Get it here from The Stamping Queen.

From TSQ:

"We'll be investigating offering more of Stampington's magazines in the near future. Perhaps on a subscription basis. If there's a mag that you're after, just drop us an email. I'll have some more information real soon".

"We're also working behind the scenes on a "huge Christmas sale". We've been scouring and sourcing some great Christmas goodies for you to start on your projects and cards early this year! We'll be releasing the lot in late May/early June so stay tuned for that one!"

*** WINNERS FOR THE METALLICS CHALLENGE! ***

Thank you to everyone who gave last month's Metallics challenge a go!

Only 16 entries last month, but boy they were great! I think having less entries made my job of judging the winners even harder!

First, check out the slideshow to refresh your memory of the entries we received:

Weren't they great?!

Now what you've all been waiting for - THE WINNERS!

The lucky winners are as follows:

Major Prize:

LYN SMITH! You have won the gorgeous paper crafting kit from Wicked Princesses! Such a  gorgeous card and a great use of different metallic elements!

Inkurable Newbie:

The Newbie prize is supposed to go to someone in Australia who has never entered at Inkurable Stampers before, however we didn't have any Aussie newbies last month! So I have chosen a very worthy winner, who is quite new to Inkurable (this was only her 2nd entry) and has never won a challenge here before. Congratulations goes to TAMMY RUDDY! You have won the lovely set of "Harmony" rubber stamps from Darkroom Door! Such a beautiful and detailed card!

Inkurable International:

JEANETTE WATERS FROM THE USA! You have won the set of 3 Clearly Impressed "The Could Be Magic" stamps from The Stamping Queen! I love how you used the gold candy wrapper in the background!

Congratulations ladies! I hope you enjoy your prizes!

Having a Break!

Hello stampers!

Sorry I've been AWOL for a while! I've been unwell, and a number of other things have kept me from getting back to the blog. As you can see, I've not yet posted a challenge for March. :(

I've decided to give you guys a break this month (as well as myself!) while I catch up on other things I've neglected (like the Gothic Arch challenge for one) and prepare for the big month ahead! So there will be no new challenge for March. Challenges will resume from 1st of April.

April 1st is Inkurable's 2nd Birthday, and we'll be having a great big celebration all month with lots of fun for all! So make sure you don't miss it! Last year we had a Cyberstamp weekend which was heaps of fun, and I'm looking at doing something similar again. It takes a lot of hard work to run something like that, so it will only go ahead of there are enough people interested - please let me know if you're keen to join in by leaving a comment on today's post. :)

There will still be heaps of stuff to see and read between now and then while I catch up on everything, so don't run away! Check back often for all the latest updates.

Stay tuned - I'll be back shortly with the winners for February's challenge!

Thanks for your patience and understanding while I get everything sorted! :)

Gothic Arch Challenge #4 - Hands.

Hi everyone!

The long awaited next theme for our Inkurable Stampers 2010 Gothic Arch Challenge is HANDS!

Your task is to use hands as a design element or inspiration for your Gothic Arch.

Here is my example:

I used Kaisercraft patterned paper as my background.  I stamped the gothic sun shape (Green Pepper Press) onto the background with Scarlet Versacolor ink, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I stamped the sun again in black ink on white cardstock, and heat embossed. I cut out the centre circle and stuck it onto the centre of the red sun. (Yes! I know it's upside down! I fixed it after the photo was taken! Ooops! LOL! Will take a better pic tomorrow!).

The hands (Green Pepper Press) were stamped in black ink onto white cardstock, cut out, and then adhered to the background. The word "Worship" is a sticker from Kelsey's wordsheets.

The red flourishes at the bottom are Kaisercraft rub-ons. To finish, I attached some beaded trim and some thin red ribbon to the bottom of my arch.

Now it's your turn!

When you're finished, upload your Gothic Arch to our dedicated Flickr Group, and don't forget to include info about how you made your piece - I could choose your arch to showcase here on the blog next week!

Please note that the Gothic Arch challenges are in addition to our regular monthly challenge. If you're new to the blog and you'd like to know more about our year-long Gothic Arch challenge, check out the details here.

Happy stamping!

The actual last entry! LOL!

Hello stampers!

Just one more entry for the Metallic challenge to share!

These cards were sent in by Karen Dimmock:

Karen says:

"Just a couple of fairly simple cards. I've had a play with a couple of new toys, i.e. the Martha Stewart big punches, and I've used one to punch out the Happy Birthday on the gold embossed card. I backed the punch out with some black cardstock, then matched it up with a Stampin Up "Upsy Daisy" stamp on the black card which I embossed in gold. I have also stamped the same stamp with Versamark on Stampin Up's 'Close to Cocoa' cardstock then mounted the black embossed card with 'Riding Hood Red' and 'Chocolate Chip' cardstock".

"On the other card I have used another large Martha Stewart punch for the lovely lacy border which I have also backed with black cardstock that I ran some glue over randomly then added some silver embossing powder. On the front I have also stamped a Hero Arts chandelier stamp and embossed that with silver onto black cardstock before tearing it then mounting onto vellum. I then mounted it onto the Stampin Up 'Close to Cocoa' cardstock and added a couple of silver do dads"
.

Great work Karen!

That officially brings our Metallics challenge to a close! The new challenge will be revealed later on this evening.

I'll be back soonish with the next Gothic Arch challenge theme! :)

The last entry?

Hi stampers!

You still have until midnight tonight to get your entries in for the Metallics challenge!

Here is the latest entry that I received - an ATC from Brigitte G:

Brigitte says:

"On my main ATC, I have adhered a piece of teared book page, then stippled some Metallic Lumiere paint (Pearl Blue) on top left and bottom right corners, then over the whole ATC. I then painted some Lumiere paint (Bright gold) to soften the blue tinge".

"I teared an image from Artchix Studio, and adhered it in the center. Over the whole ATC, I added an ATC Arch frame (from Scrapmatts), then glued on left side a length of golden leaf ribbon. I then added two small buds of flowers (that I have also painted with Lumiere paint - Pearl blue). I stamped the word 'Believe' from Collections, then all around the arch I have applied a line of Dimensional magic, and sprinkled some metallic blue micro-beads"
.

Gorgeous ATC Brigitte!

Tomorrow will be busy here on the blog! A new Gothic Arch challenge as well as the new monthly challenge will be uploaded! So make sure you check back throughout the day for all the details!

Catching up!

Hi everyone! I'm back!

Thanks for letting me have a few days off!

There's lots to catch up on so let's get straight into it!

The lucky winner of the 600th Post give away is.....Drum roll please......

JENXO!

Congratulations Jen! Please email me your address details and I will get your stamps out to you ASAP.

*****

Now, I have to apologise for missing out on last Sunday's new Gothic Arch Challenge theme. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to upload it - please check back here on Sunday for the latest challenge, and an update on the entries in the Flickr Group. ;)

*****

Now it's time to share the latest entries for the Metallics challenge!

First we have this tag by Ros Crichton:

Ros says:

"My wooden tag was base coated in an olive green paint and sanded back. I then sprayed over the whole piece with green Matisse ink and gave it a blast with the heat gun. Next came a generous spray of Matisse copper ink and made it quite wet then blasted it quite closely with the heat gun which caused some parts to crack. Gave it another sand then stamped over it with an Inkadinkadoo Rockstar stamp".

"The frame is Grungeboard treated the same way as the base. The mask and other emphemera is from a lovely old brooch which broke".

Next we have this Metallic mini album from Giovanna in Italy:

Gio says:

"I love to recycle Coca cola tin cans, so, I decided to create an entire metallic mini album".

"I opened up and cut 2 cans and embossed them on my cuttlepasta, then I coloured them with alcohol-ink. I glued the backs with some old book paper and stamped with stamps from Toga and Aladine.
I attached the pictures and wrote some journaling on them"
.

"I created the embellishment by stamping a woman's face from a Creative Impressions stamp on a piece of old book and gluing it on a Tim Holtz fragments with Glossy Accents".

And last but not least we have this card from Joy Rumble of New Zealand:

Joy says:

"I made the Star Trekker with silver/copper wire made into springs - the hair is red wire springs. The stamp I used is Kiwi Impressions JODIE, only the head, hands & feet. The body was done using 2 clear stamps from Kaisercraft set "All about me", stamped onto silver card, as was the Star commander & the robot which are both from Grant Stamps 'Robots'. Grant metallic ink pads were used there. The stars were done on the computer sponged with Grants metallic ink. I then Kindy glitzed the small star, edges & the milky way. I wrapped some fine sparkly thread around the galaxy before putting it altogether. The black card was stamped with stars then sponged with several colours from again Grants metallics. I then put it through the Cuttlebug using the Traffic jam embossing folder".

Awesome work ladies!

If you haven't yet entered the Metallics challenge now is the time! You still have until midnight tomorrow night (Saturday) to send me your entry!

I'll be back tomorrow to share another new entry, so stay tuned! :)
